Nas & Kelis Both Claim They Are Nearly Broke During Divorce Hearing
It appears as if one-time hip-hop couple Nas and Kelis aren’t as filthy rich as some fans might expect. The couple was in court for two days earlier this week for a divorce hearing, and both parties revealed that they have a few financial shortcomings. Kelis acknowledged during the proceedings that she recently signed a 175-thousand-dollar contract with Interscope Records. The “Bossy” singer’s attorney claims, however, that the majority of the contract was paid to managers, leaving Kelis with only 50-thousand-dollars. Kelis would go on to admit that her career is nowhere near where it was in 2003 when her hit track “Milkshake” was heating up the charts. The singer cites her latest single, “Acapella,” which was quietly released via her Twitter account. Kelis’ annual income could not be determined because she has not filed an income tax return in years. Nas also acknowledged that he has some serious financial obligations. The rapper stated that he owes 700-thousand-dollars to his manager and two-point-five-million-dollars in back taxes to the IRS. Nas went on to testify that he would not release a solo album next year, but did not discuss whether or not that included his Damian Marley collaboration, “Distant Relatives.” Following the hearing, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge David Cunningham ordered the emcee to pay Kelis 51-thousand-101-dollars a month in spousal and child support. Nas was reportedly paying nearly 40-thousand-dollars a month in temporary support. Wednesday’s ruling did relieve Nas of having to pay the 13-thousand-dollar a month mortgage on the pair’s Los Angeles home where Kelis currently lives. Nas and Kelis tied the knot in 2005. Kelis filed for divorce this past April citing “irreconcilable differences.” The singer gave birth to a baby boy named Knight in July, which is the couple’s only child. source:

T.I. Expected To Be Released From Prison Early, May Attend Halfway House
by Danielle Canada Just when you thought you'd have to wait till March of 2010 for the ‘King of the South' to make his return, think again. T.I.'s release date from prison is March 23 but rumors were swirling Tuesday that the king was already out of the bing and had quietly retreated to his Atlanta home. The speculation was cleared up, however, after a prison official told The Atlanta Journal Constitution that while TIP is still locked up, he could be out very shortly. Bureau of Prisons spokesman Edmond Ross told the AJC that it was customary for an inmate to transition from prison to freedom by spending time in a halfway house if there is no danger to the community and if there is space at a facility near where he lives. He also told the publication,
Ross also mentioned to the AJC that TIP could serve the final month of his sentence out of the halfway house and in his home in Atlanta. Wow! Talk about good lawyers….or maybe it's just good behavior…..or maybe it's just good money. Either way, get ready...The king's baaack!

The NY Post reports that the New Orleans native has been renting the 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment from a landlord who has listed the property for $520,000. The marijuana aroma has become an issue, especially since several prospective buyers noticed the weed smell when they visited the home.
Even though the couple walked into a potential rap video in the making they were shocked to find the Grammy Award winning rapper had such neatness and structure in the apartment.

Associated Press Names Tiger Woods "Athlete Of The Decade" He may not be a very good husband, but Tiger Woods is a great golfer and because of that he has been voted the Associated Press' Athlete of the Decade. Here's the interesting thing, the vote began before the scandal broke and Woods was way ahead, and he continued to earn votes even after all the Mistress Madness hit the media. What does that mean, well maybe it's a reminder that we never watched the guy because he was model citizen, Tiger Woods became famous because he is the best golfer the game has ever seen. I'm willing to bet that once he gets back to playing, all the ladies, all the Ambien, all the run over fire hydrants will be forgotten.
