eminem named top selling artist of the decade

by Slava Kuperstein

Even when Eminem achieved multi-platinum success as Dr. Dre's protege in 1999, no one could imagine the success the rapper from Detroit would have in the following decade.

Neilson Soundscan revealed on Tuesday (Dec. 8), that the rapper was not only the most successful Hip Hop artist of the decade, but the best-selling artist of any kind in the 2000s.

Eminem sold over 32.2 million records in this decade, beating out the Beatles. But fans of the English legends shouldn't fret, as the Beatles landed the number one spot with the decade's best-selling album, 1.

Of the ten albums that sold more than any other this decade, Eminem's were the only ones that placed twice, with 2000's Marshall Mathers LP (10.2 million) and 2003's Eminem Show (9.8 million copies) landing at the fourth and fifth spots, respectively. At the time of its release, Marshall Mathers LP had the fastest-selling solo album debut of all time, with 1.8 million sold in its first week.

Tiger Denied Congressional Gold Medal

tiger denied congressional gold medal

by  Bridget Daly

Tiger Woods can say goodbye to yet another accomplishment in his life. The golf great was supposed to receive the Congressional Gold Medal, but that has since been taken away.

According to TMZ, California Representative Joe Baca has decided against his original plan of honoring Tiger with the highest award for a civilian.

Baca released a statement today saying, “In light of the recent developments surrounding Tiger Woods and his family, I will not pursue legislation awarding him the Congressional Gold Medal this session.”

Baca had previously submitted a bill to award Tiger for his “service to the Nation in promoting excellence and good sportsmanship, and in breaking barriers with grace and dignity by showing that golf is a sport for all people.”

Now that most of Tiger’s endorsers have pulled out, our question is, when will Nike follow suit?

Dumb Comments Like This Is Why Rihanna Gets Involved With Guys Like Chris Brown

Rihanna, what in the hell are you talking about? In a recent interview, the Rated R star claims that she doesn't like "nice guys". You know, the kind that will treat you right and love you the way you're supposed to be loved. Instead, she prefers a guy with an edge.

"I love the high-risk (guys). I don't like cream puff, corny guys. Usually they are the nice guys, the ones that won't hurt you. They'll pull out the chair for you and the whole nine yards. Everything is perfect and boring. I like the risk, I like the edge. That's the thrill for me," she said. - imdb.com

Chile, please. That's that "21" talking. "High-risk" is a term you use for a negative statistic, not a soulmate.

Justin Timberlake Finally Comes Out In Support Of Janet Jackson

justin timberlake fnally comes out in support of Janet Jackson

Justin Timberlake apparently has regrets over his treatment of Janet Jackson in the wake of their 2004 Super Bowl debacle. You may remember, at the end of the duo’s half time performance, JT ripped open her jacket to reveal Jackson’s naked breast. Jackson called it a “wardrobe malfunction” at the time. Nevertheless, the brief nipple flash was seen by an estimated 140 million viewers of the CBS event.

Timberlake said at the time that he had no idea that Jackson was topless and quickly distanced himself from Nipplegate. Nearly six years later, the 28-year-old tells Entertainment Weekly that he regrets the way that he handled the situation.

“I wish I had supported Janet more. I am not sorry I apologized, but I wish I had been there more for Janet,” he said.

Hmmm…Now that Janet is getting relevant again and the smoke has cleared he want’s to issue an apology??? Where was he when Janet really needed him SIX YEARS AGO? Is this apology too little too late???
