tiger woods involved in car accident

by Ani Esmailian

Tiger Woods was involved in a single car accident early this morning that left him with facial lacerations.

Woods hit a fire hydrant just 100 yards past his Florida home at 2:20 AM on Friday before finally hitting a tree. He was reportedly unconscious following the accident.

His wife Elin Nordegren heard the crash and rushed outside to find him unconscious in the car so she smashed out the back window of his 2009 Cadillac SUV to get him out, reports TMZ.

He was taken to Health Central Hospital with facial lacerations. According to Tiger's rep, he was in a "minor" accident, "admitted, treated and released today in good condition."

The Windermere police report reads, "DRIVER HAD JUST PULLED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AT HIS RESIDENCE ... AS V1 BEGAN TO DRIVE ON DEACON CIRCLE, V1 STRUCK A FIRE HYDRANT. THE FRONT OF V1 THEN STRUCK A TREE ... THE DRIVER WAS TRANSPORTED TO HEALTH CENTRAL HOSPITAL. THE CRASH REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION AND CHARGES ARE PENDING."

Tiger is now back at home and resting. When officers went to his home to talk to him about the crash Elin turned them away because he was resting. We're just glad to hear no one was seriously injured! More details coming soon.

Chris Brown To Appear On Good Mourning America

Chris Brown To Perform on good mourning america

by Bridget Daly

Good Morning America doesn’t want anything to do with Adam Lambert because he’s “unpredictable,” but they’ll take Chris Brown! The morning show canceled Adam’s scheduled performance this week after he shocked viewers with his AMA performance. The sexually charged performance included grinding with his backup dancers, and making out with his male keyboardist.

And now GMA has announced they’ve booked Chris Brown on the show in two weeks for a tell-all interview, followed by a performance of songs from his upcoming album Graffiti, due out December 8th.

This news has sparked outrage amongst feminist and gay activists, who believe the program is holding a double standard—Adam is openly gay and being punished for it, but Chris Brown, who was convicted of beating Rihanna, is excusable.

Even an inside source from ABC says, “The network is giving a mixed message — that it doesn’t trust someone who shocked with an unpredictable show and a gay kiss, but then it is happy to go ahead with Chris Brown, who was convicted of felony assault.”

But another AC exec says, “Chris Brown’s interview was booked way before Adam Lambert took to the stage. It is to give him a chance to respond to Rihanna’s interview. The possibility of him performing a song will be worked out next week.”

What do you think about Chris appearing on GMA? Is this a double standard, or are both instances not even connected to one another?

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Basketball star Shaquille O'neal paid for the funeral of a 5-year-old North Carolina girl after being moved by national news coverage of the case of Shaniya Davis, who police say was kidnapped and killed.

The Clevend Cavaliers player was touched by the stories he saw and got in touch with the family to see what he could do to help, a spokeswoman for O'Neal said Thursday

More than 2,000 people attended the girl's funeral Sunday. Her body was found Nov. 16 beside a rural road.

Her mother, Antionette Davis, who had reported the child missing six days earlier, is charged with human trafficking and child abuse involving prostitution. Mario McNeill is charged with murder, rape and kidnapping in the case.

"I was sitting at home watching it on the news and the story brought a tear to my eye," O'Neal told The Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper.

Corey Breece, of Rogers and Breece Funeral Home, which handled the service, declined to tell the Fayetteville Observer newspaper how much it cost but added that a child's funeral "averages around $4,500."

A man who answered the phone at the funeral home Thursday told the AP that only the owner could comment and that he was away.

Shaniya Davis' father, Bradley Lockhart, and his family had set up a trust fund in memory of Shaniya to help raise money to pay for the funeral. Lockhart was not available to talk Thursday, said a man who answered the phone at his home.

O'Neal is recovering from a shoulder injury that has sidelined him for six straight games since getting hurt Nov. 12 against Miami.

British Duchess Does Not Approve Of Beyonce Shaking Her Ass!

british duchess doesnt not approve of beyonce shaking her ass

A British Duchess made some valid points yesterday about the way young people are victimized in today's rap videos. She uses Bey's 'Video Phone' to make one of her points. Do you agree?

The Duchess of Cornwall spoke for the first time yesterday, about the way youngsters are sexualised by explicit rap videos. Camilla was taking part in a discussion with victims of sexual violence during a visit to a rape crisis center when the topic turned to how music videos affect teenagers today. She told an audience of women that children thought they could get away with things because teachers failed to punish them.

Referring to the images children are exposed to, the Duchess said: ‘A lot of those videos are terrifying. ‘I am sure they trigger a response in some of the young people. I can never understand how they can get away with making those things.’ The Duchess has avoided speaking in public on social issues until now. Her stance has been in marked contrast to Charles’ first wife, Diana, Princess of Wales, who was renowned for the way in which she tackled controversial issues.

Yesterday, the Duchess made her concerns clear that youngsters are already becoming immune to such images of sex and violence. She said schools need to become involved in teaching both male and female schoolchildren ‘the value of respect for each other.’ During the discussions, the subject turned to a controversial video by pop singer Beyonce, who is particularly popular with young girls.

In the promotion for the single Video Phone, which also features the outlandish singer Lady Gaga, Beyonce provocatively dances in a series of increasingly skimpy outfits and holds a toy gun to the head of a bare-chested man who is hooded.

‘It has happened too quickly, values have changed so much,’ the Duchess said. ‘I suppose it’s peer pressure, that’s the problem. You don’t want to look like the odd one out.”

But it takes a strong person to show that they don’t approve, especially at that age. It’s a breakdown of discipline. There doesn’t seem to be any punishment for such behavior. The teachers are too kind.’

Allen Iverson Retires After 13 Years In The NBA

allen iverson retires after 13 years in the nba

By Roman Wolfe

NBA star/rapper Allen Iverson has announced his retirement from the NBA in a statement released on commentator Stephen A. Smith’s website yesterday (November 25th).

Iverson, who played in the NBA for 13 years, was a 10 time All-Star, who played with the 76ers from 1996 until 2006.

From 2006 until 2008 Iverson played with the Denver Nuggets. In 2009, the Nuggets traded Iverson to the Detroit Pistons, where he sat out the majority of the season.

A back injury was officially sited as the reason for his deactivation.

Iverson signed a one-year contract with the Memphis Grizzlies in September, but left the team earlier this month for personal reasons.

Last week the Grizzlies terminated Iverson's contract, after the former star player played in only three games.

In a statement on Smith's website, Iverson stated that he was stepping away from the game to spend quality time with his wife and children.

"I would like to announce my plans from the National Basketball Association,” Iverson said in a statement. “I always thought that when I left the game, it would be because I couldn't help my team the way that I was accustomed to. However, that is not the case. I still have tremendous love for the game, the desire to play and a whole lot left in my tank. I feel strongly that I can still compete at the highest level."

Iverson thanked a number of influential people in his statement, including Magic Johnson, Isaiah Thomas, Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, his mother, John Thompson and Philadelphia 76ers former head coach Larry Brown, with whom Iverson had a tumultuous relationship.

Under his rap name Juelz, Iverson has recorded with a variety of rappers including Mase, Mysonne and Harlem World.

In 2000 his track “40 Bars” leaked. The track contained numerous explicative lyrics as well as derogatory remarks against homosexuals.

The track was never released nor was the album.

"To the city of Philadelphia I have wonderful memories of my day in a Sixers uniform,” Iverson stated. “To Philly fans, thank you. Your voice will always be music to my ears."
